All of you want to earn your Canada Cord, Right?
So, how do you do it? Especially being a Lone?
Well, it isn't any harder being a Lone than belonging to a group...you just might need to be a little more resourceful...but that is what I am here for!
So the exact requirements are as follows:
There are 6 parts...to be completed in 3 years (you see why you need a plan!! )
Part 1 Complete specific badges from the Program book (20 all together...you can choose 6)
Part 2 Demonstrate Leadership...either 3 camps or 3 leadership events (this can be with other units...Brownies, Trexs, Guides...with a school club ....or on your own)
Part 3 Earn your Community Service Award (15 hours of service)
Part 4 Participate in bridging activities (younger or older groups)
Part 5 Learn about first aid
Part 6 Earn your Citizenship Certificate (this is pretty much the Be a Model Citizen Module)
Wow! It is a lot of stuff...But you can do it! I was very happy to award a Canada Cord Award to one of my Lones last year. She planned it out and with my help was able to finish everything!
You too can earn the hightest award that can be earned as a Pathfinder, and I want to be able to send it to you by the time you finish Pathfinders.
So, my plan is to send out tid bits of information each week on this Blog that will give you ideas and suggestions for completing different badges. Also keep you up to date on Girl Guide stuff, and I hope you will comment back...maybe we can even get a bit of a "conversation" going!
I'm going to think of this as a weekly Pathfinder meeting!
